as above, I really like the colors and contrast, was there a PPing?
But on some shots the lack of reach is apparent, but the lens seems to perform flawlessly.

Minimal, with subtle adjustments to take balance the exposure (white birds in full sun) and detail, given the breeze and reflections on the water.

Indeed ... these birds are close in absolute terms, but you'd want 300-400 to do some of these shots justice. Still ... as you say, not bad and the quality overall is great.
