Absolute first thoughts: DA35/2.8 limited

After seeing these threads:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/61960-your-bes...ted-shots.html
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/34709-first-shots-da35-limited.html

I knew I absolutely had to sell off my DA40ltd and buy the DA35ltd...more "space" and macro flexibility.

Mounted the lens today and tried to chase around the cats. What I noticed? Absolute sharpness, depth and ease of shooting (you can't get too close to run out of focus, I guess).

And while these are just snapshots in overcast light, I absolutely love the lens.

First shot and man, I hate when I sit "shallow" on the P setting. (lens sits at f/4 on MTF)

Stretching at f/7.1

Reaching in the f/6 range.

Crosshairs - can you tell these two cats don't get along?

HSS @ 1/4000 sec. f/10 to get that whole bloom in range.

Looking forward to the opportunity to get out and take shots with this da35. I've no excuse if I don't become a better photographer, the lens kinda leaves no room besides operator-error.

Congrats! The 35mm is a beautiful lens and so versatile. Too bad you had to sell your 40mm for one. Cheers!

I too just bought the DA35 Limited and other than to run some test shots with the new DA*200, it's not been off the camera. I also half-heartedly ran a few focus tests yesterday and decided that the lens was bang-on. You can see a few of my shots with this lens, here.

So I agree ... the rest is down to us! Enjoy!
