The Rokinon FE lens is also an extremely tight fit. Oddly enough, I have the Vivitar version and the fit actually feels normal...
same here.

and I don't find any issue at all on the focusing. smooth and constant drag, but as icywindow sugtgests there is no momemtum, you stop it stops. Actully feels about right

I am hoping to post some pics of the viv 85 1.4 on Monday, will be giving it a super workout this weekend, will be shooting under extreme crappy indoor lighting conditions of some extremely fast moving and eratic skateboarders during a tourney - this will be the ultimate test for this lens. Will be set up with CIF enabled ...

I think I might order the Rokinon from Amazon Monday when my Apple check comes in. I went and searched google for sample images, and they are stunning. This should squeeze in nicely between my 50mm f1.4 and my 100mm f2.8.

No need to search. Just check the lens reviews here and the samyang lens club I started

Yeah, I looked at 'em. I like the look, but I'm an inveterate pixel peeper; I gotta see the whole enchilada. I found enough to sell me on it.

The 14 and 8 look nice, too. I've been debating selling my 10-20 Sigma and getting a 15 Ltd, but I might stop in between at the Rokinon 14mm and see if it makes me happy.

The 8 is an absolute great lens. The ONLY issue is flare with that lens, but I have pulled out some fantastic shots with it!

Yeah, I just ordered a Helios 44M-4... I might spring for the 8mm instead since I have a new "portrait" lens to play with.

Here is a shot I took today with the 8mm, turned out pretty descent, tough day today with the 8mm as the sun was pretty bright and high...

And here is one with the Vivitar 85 1.4 (f/9, SS: 1/125, ISO-100); pretty sharp lens:

The 8mm is great! The only issue (as mentioned earlier) is the flare, and flare got to me today; here is another 8mm shot from today - I was approx 3.5~4ft away from the truck, and a big truck this thing is:
