Good luck and let us see the results. I never regretted getting my FA Ltds and if you don't like them, there is a waiting list of people who will buy them off you!

Dear Forum Members,

I Got offered two FA silver FA primes (43 and 77) in used but perfect state.

as an alternative, my local vendor got his hands on two new silver DA40 and DA70.
price difference would be approx 100EUR more for the brandnew DAs.

how would you decide??
going for the more legendary (??) but used FAs or the brandnew DAs?

thanks for any input!!
Its a start!

Having a A 50.1.2 and the FA 50/1.4 and various 1.4, Taks, I have been able to resist the urge to get the 43 ltd. However, it still hits me from time to time. I have even considered selling the A/1.2 to make room for the DA* 55 and the FA 50/1.4 to make room for the 43 ltd BrownBag

I know what you mesn. I think sometimes people get too fixed on focal length rather than lens character.

I have the 50/1.2K and the 50/1.2A in silver. Both of those are indentical. The 50/1.4's in all their guisesdon't have the same 3D modelling effect. The 50/1.7's and 50/1.8's are perhaps sharper but lack some of the character. However, although there are differences, there is also a very strong family resemblance.

The 43 Ltd on the other hand has quite a distinct character from the 50's

Cantona,

You definitely made the right choice! Consider your purchase of the FA ltds an investment in premium glass that you can enjoy as it increases in value.

Should you ever decide to sell these lenses you will have a long line of interested buyers.
