Which lens is this?

Hey guys, I am trying to buy a used 135mm lens for my pentax k-x. The only problem is that the guy selling it, does not know exactly which lens it is. He says it auto focuses and has a max aperture of 2.8. Here are the two pictures he sent me.

I would like to read the reviews on it before I purchase it, so that is why I want to know exactly which lens it is. Thanks.

That looks like a mf lens to me of possible Korean manufacture. It appear to lack A capability as well.

That is what I was thinking, do you think it is still worth meeting up with him and trying it? I really need the AF though.

It is not autofocus. It does not have A-type aperture control. It is nameless. I wouldn't go above five bucks. And I *like* cheap no-name lenses! But this one has almost zero value. If you would rather buy a lens than a sandwich, and if you don't mind blowing five bucks on a mediocre lens, fine. But this one is no prize.

Cool, thanks for your help guys. I think I will pass on the lens.

Good thing I came here first, I was ready to pay $80 for it. Thanks again.

I would never buy anything from a seller who doesn't know what he is selling. Just sayin'.

That is a good point. But you could also get a really good deal that way

It appears to be a 135/2.8 from the early 1980's

Straight K mount, manual focus. BUT it seems to be an internally focused lens which would explain the use of Macro on the focusing collar. An IF lens would, by nature of the design permit close focus in this respect it could be similar tothe sears 135/2.8 macro

I would consider a fully-manual no-name 135/2.8 lens from that era to be a sub-$20 lens, generally speaking. There are SO DARN MANY of those things out there that at a used camera show you could probably pick one up for $10 or less.

You'd be far better off focusing on quality than quantity. It doesn't take too many lots of $80 to get an really excellent lens.
