Congrats, have been pondering over the 77 or 70 myself. Did you get the black or silver one? The 77 isnt that sharp in the corners but the rendering is very nice especially for portraits I think its better than the 70 for portraits although the 70 seems better as an all around tele.

Got the Silver. Good price I think $465 no box or pouch but I can deal with that. Can't wait to try it outside.

77 Ltd Price

At US$465 that hurts a lot. I just received my && Ltd today at AUS$1030. Given that our dollar is around the 90c mark somebody made a profit. Oh well I'll just have to create some images to make it worthwhile. I posted some on a new 43 Ltd reversed a few weeks ago. I'll do the same with the 77.

Enjoy the good glass,

David

I'd love to have that lens or the D70. Those were the focal lengths I really needed at the dance recital the other day. I have a huge gap between 55mm and 105mm that it isn't always convenient to shoe-zoom. I'll probably end up with a Takumar 85/1.8 or a Jupiter 9, though.

Dave this may hurt more. I bought it here (marketplace) so anyone could have got it. Mike that was the other one I was looking for, well the Pentax 85 but timing was right for me to get this at a pretty good price as far as I can tell. I have a few things like a dance recital that I am sure this will come in very handy for. Thanks for the comments,.

Man, you got a bargain!

Sure you will love this lens. So small and compact with consistent performance
