da* 50-135 tripod collar

anyone knows where to buy a tripod collar for da* 50-135?

Pentax doesn't make one and on the sister Tokina 50-135 it's built in. If you really want one, you'll probably have to improvise. That said, I personally have no issues with the 50-135 having no tripod collar as it's really not a very heavy nor long lens.

The only weight problem i have wtih this lens is not the weight, but thie balance when one is trying to use it in the vertical portrait mode. Then the lens wants to rotate around the connection point with the tripod head.

Using a quick release plate with stops designed to stop rotation helps a lot.

If you have found yourself needing the collar with this lens, that means what you really need is a better head (and probably tripod). Arca Swiss style anti-twist camera plates are the best to go with.

thanks guys for the replies. when shooting with slow shutter speed i tend to get camera shakes when at 135mm. i use a monopod to lessen the shake but i cannot use it for portrait shots.
