Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 AF doesn't work right in backlit situations?

Are you purposely overexposing the shots? Can you try shooting in AV mode just to compare? I'll try to shoot under similar conditions with my Siggy and let you know the results.

Do you have the hood or any filter on the lens?

I exposed normally I thought.

Yes I had the hood on but no filter.

HI, were you able to get the issues with backlit lighting sorted out? I just bought the sigma 50 150mm f2.8 lens and seem to be facing similar issues. Also loosing a lot of contrast when shooting wide open..any help would be appreciated

The OP hasn't posted on the site since June of 2011, so I probably wouldn't expect a reply anytime soon. In his last post he said he sold his Pentax K-x and switched to a Canon 5D.
