Oh yes, when I had K50/1.2 it was my most used lens. And there was time when I had 43+50/1.2+55/1.8. Loved them, now I sold all my 50s and 43 I shoot with DA*55. These days it's like 8.5 out of 10 shots are taken by the 55.
Love the FOV on APSC...

Yes, either with a prime (43/1.9, 50/1.2, 50/1.7, 55/1.4) or a zoom (16-50, 18-135, 28-75, 50-135, 55-300), I find I shoot quite a bit around 50mm.

Yes, regularly. For the f/2.0 and faster shallow D.O.F.

Absolutely... And a lot! I use a Pentax M 1.4 50mm. It's one of my favorite lenses, especially for low-light stuff.

I sold my FA50 1.4 short a while and now i will buy another one because I find my self do more shots with dfa50 macro using it like portrait, group-outdoor shots lens than FA35 wich is in use only for landscape and over-the-table portrait shots.
I miss also F2.0 50mm in small indoor sport events.

Let's see, on this journey I brought:

* K50/1.2
* FA50/1.4
* Yashica ML 50/1.4
* Meyer Oreston 50/1.8
* CZJ 50/2.8 Tessar (alu, 12 iris blades)
* Industar-50-2 f/3.5
* Macro-Takumar 50/4 (1:1)
* Sears-Tomioka 55/1.4
* Super-Takumar 55/1.8
* Helios-44M 58/2

and the F35-70 and Schneider Betavaron 50-125 zooms, both of which see a lot of action around 50mm. I left the 30 other Fifty primes at home.

I'm just about to take a scenic walk around the scenic block here in Santa Fe NM. I slapped the K50/1.2 onto my K20D but now that I think about it, I'll load the Betavaron instead and get weird.

I sure do, here is an image I just shot with my(over 30 years old) Pentax SMC 50mm 1:1.4 @ f-16 with on board flash on my K-x. I would say this lens is still an awesome lens, if you can get your hands on one I suggest it, I cannot get the image quality with my kit lens like I do with this little beauty. (PS: this image is crappy after it is resized for posting here, it does the original image no justice, the original is tack sharp as usual with this lens)~

I've never liked the focal length. In some cases, it works good for me, but that's rare. I don't even own a 50 anymore. I shoot mostly FX, though (Nikon D3). I have a 35mm lens for my K-5, though. It sees some use, but not a lot.

I am a portrait shooter first and foremost, and over time have just gravitated toward about 100 mm as my preferred focal length.

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 is a really good lens. Very versatile.

Yes, sometimes, though I tend to shoot far more in the 100-300MM range. I have a couple of 50's and a 55 and I do use them.

My 50 is my least-used among about a dozen lenses, despite being the fastest by a full stop. The 50 end of my DA50-200 gets used a fair amount, but pretty clearly, those are mostly shots I'd have preferred to wider on. Similarly, 55 gets used a bit on my 18-55, mostly when I really wanted to go longer. I suspect I'd essentially never shoot between 40 and 60 if I were using a superzoom.
