running threads on this subject. There is a continual flowing stream of these threads started by affected users with contributions from even more affected users; not just here, but at dpreview as well.
To be fair not everyone that has bought an SDM lens has experienced a failure of sorts; in response to all the complaints there was a thread dedicated to that subject, but list of unaffected owners wasn't very long.
Like so many people before and after me, I wish my experience with SDM had been different. My position is nobody considering an SDM lens should be ignorant of these facts. Buyer beware. And that's all I have to say on this subject in this thread.
