This lens and I go way back to the 80s

Hey folks I just thought I would just post this image of a lens that has been through it all (thick and thin) with me since I received it as a gift on my 15th birthday, I wanted a zoom lens so badly when my pops handed down my Pentax ME.
It has been through thousands of shots, I have taken slide shows of our youth group at the church I used to go to, it has photographed several weddings (with awesome results) and most of those weddings were relations so I had to get it right lol.
I had to do some modifying/filing to get it to work on my K-x but compared to my kit 200mm Zoom it doesn't do as well, maybe it is showing its age or I am doing something wrong, either way I am going to keep playing with it just for fun.
I know it isn't the Series one Vivitar zoom but it actually held up very well after all these years, I am now 46 years old, I cannot believe I have had that lense for over thirty years now, I even still have a 50mm 1;1.4 that still works awesome on my new camera that has accompanied that zoom all these years. well with out further delay here it is~

Here is a sample image of how well it still does in macro mode

Here is me back in the day with it in use, nobody knew what I actually looked like because that camera was always in my face.

Ha, old memories of good times... Yeah, hang on to that one just for the sentimental value.

That is the only reason I hang on to it.....sentimental value lol. Actually if I really concentrate on it I can really get some nice images out of that old lens, I just got to remember its drawbacks and work around them lol.
either way it will reside on my old ME Super on my desk sort of like a shrine to the 'good ol days~
PS: this was taken with my SMC 50mm 1:1.4 lens at f~16 assisted with onboard flash on my K-x @ 100 ISO and 180 Shutter speed

I have a Focal QII 70-210 that I received sometime around 1985 and one of the reasons I use it still today is because I can.
I bought it to use with my K1000 upon graduating from high school and have used it on a few Pentax bodies over the years.
Nostalgia is a big part of it but also because it is still useful at times even on our digital camera bodies.

I'm right there with you.

I must admit, I still have a few in daily use from this era, think of it as good value for money.

Hey, Birddude: Matt has just revealed the identity of your mystery-60-300. I thought I'd recognized it. Focal is the K-mart house brand.
