Can you ID the lens?

Daughter's at Parsons photo program, and ran into Mark Fisher, a NYC pro photographer, who helped her change film and gave her a couple of tips...

She took his pic on tri-x - note the Pentax around his neck... and a very interesting looking lens, looks like manual focus... what is that?

Could that be a medium format lens with an adapter? Looks manual focus and it doesn't look like rubber grips.
Looking closely, can it be a pre-set?
OK, I have no idea

Looks like he uses a lot of medium format film cameras, including a few Pentax 6x7's... so yes, this could be a MF manual focus thing, and the grips look to be vintage metal zebra style.

Oh my aching neck!

It just hurts thinking about the weight of that lens.

Yeah, me too... it may be some form of Pentacon 6 lens with a P6->K adapter. Biometar something zebra.

It looks like a SMC Takumar 6x7 75mm F/4.5 with a Pentax 67 to 35mm K Mount adapter, don't know the weight of that thing but it sure looks heavy.

I do like that pic, it looks as if it was taken in 1962.

I'd guess something like that as well, however either the metal fluting's worn down a lot... or it is some sort of zebra lens.

Yes, doesn't it. Speaking of which, daughter took the Nikon FE with her to school - but the very first day she was asking me to bring her SP1000 instead, as she was more comfortable with it.
