Haha, If the Hens tooth ever shows up, I'd like one. If I don't find a good prime 300 or 400 in the mean time. I actually prefer a prime at these lengths, but the price for the 100-300 seemed better at the time than a prime, and everybody that has one, does say the IQ is quality for sure. ( I think I have found a FA300/4.5 will see what occurs)
The Reason I showed that 150-300 is that its another Pentax Lens that is already out there, and would be a really good usable Focal range for the DSLR, it already exsists and engineering wise and range wise a better crossover design than completely tooling up for the 60-250) . I must admit it did seem odd to me that they made the 60-250 that made redundant the 50-135 range (yes, yes, I know not as fast, I should say the >60-135< part of the 60-250 is redundant) it just seems the 60-250 should have been a chance for a 135-400??? or the like, seeing how there was no other real long zoom lenses offered by Pentax in a * lens with a fast glass, and since they have gone with the SDM system, yet decided to leave us all hanging without a SDM converter to make up for the shortfall in FL. So thats why I'm hesitant about a DA300 as not sure about how it will perform with TC's. as well as not being able to use on the old film body.
I remember with FF that the amateur in general seemed happy with a 300, and now on crop sensors the 300 (450 FF equivilant) is not long enough.
