white button-ectomy and canon tripod mount on K300 f4

Who else has done this and is there a different solution for an actual tripod mount for this lens?

I don't have a K300/4.0 but I bought 3 aftermarket Canon tripod rings and put them on 3 Tamron lenses: 19AH 70-210/3.5, 23A 60-300/3.8-5.4 and 54B 300/5.6. I have extended the foot of the tripod ring to allow better handling during focus and zoom action, while being hand held. Buying long lenses without a tripod ring is not a hindrance anymore with these cheap knock-off Canon tripod rings readily available.
