Ron, as you know I've said it before and I'll say it again, I still believe this lens would be an absolute fire cracker, It would bring Pentax back into the frey with the Big lens giants (nikcaonions) . It would be a serious reason for pros to come back complimenting the beautiful range of Short prime lenses, as a 270/2.8, it would be in the Super Telephoto class, giving a powerful lens when used by itself, and still a fast Ultra Tele lens when combined with 1.4 or 2x teleconveters. It would be certainly be able to be made, as we have seen with the 120-300/2.8 Sigma has on offer , and really the only thing stopping it would be price. Most Nikcanions regularly pay 2000 to 8000 for the high end, fast super teles in their brands, maybe Pentax users should start backing up their commitment and start spending the actual money, then maybe Pentax would bring back the big guns, Like the celebrated 300/2.8, the 600/4, the 250-600/5.6, there's a reason they don't make them, Pentax users don't buy enough of them.

Well that is a big problem, finding customers that spend money, more then current on average.

(I bought today a brand new DA*200mm/f2.8!)

OoooOOOooooo..... Nice. DA*200/2.8 is a Nice FL. I think you'll be impressed. I love my FA*200/2.8, wish I could afford a FA*300/2.8......

Actually, almost considering a Sigma 300/2.8 at the moment, just deciding which and how many of my current lenses to sell off to finance the endevour. Think I'll have to sell 10-20, 12-24, 20-35, 17-28FE, 8mm Circular FE, 24/2.8, 400/5.6 and 600/f8Mirror, 2x TC, 1.5xTC, 1.7xAFA TC. Then maybe my car , whats a Kidney worth these days

I think you should hold your breath for some months and wait and see if the new Sigma 120-300mm/f2.8 is coming in K-mount by the end of this year. That is a way better lens.

Not seriously used the 200mm, that will come next weekend I hope.
