Yes, I would agree with this (although the FA*200 might be good instead of the F*300 in this lineup, range-wise. I use this same set, except often use the K200/2.5 instead of the F*300).

Thanks all your advise.
Actually I like the A lens. I like the built and color. But I need some auto focus lens for my wife. The color of F lens are closed to the A lens...That's why I chose F28, F50, F135 and F*300. The price is not a big concern to me. Cos' the price of the lens goes up and up. In case I need to sell the lens, I won't lose(I think). But if only base on the range, I think, FA31, FA43, FA*85 and F*300 would be a good choice. Right??
F28, F50, F135, F300 set up is quite afew notches below the FA31, FA43, FA85, F300 set up (I did not factor in the looks of the lens here though ...but if I did, the latter is still better in build and color to me as well)

In his entire collection, only the F28 is an average lens for a prime (will still smoke many zooms), the FA limteds are absolutely stellar, the 85 even better, and the 50, 135 and 300 are almost up with the others. You 31, 43, 85, 300 set up will give you many of the best glass Pentax could POSSIBLY offer. If money is not a problem, this will EASILY be my 4 lens set-up among the ones you are considering. (Well! frankly I will need the DA 21 with these and I will switch the 300 for a DA*60-250/4...so, DA21, FA31, FA43, FA*85, DA* 60-250).

Well said! (although I happen to like DA15 and FA20, and use DA*50-135 as my longest zoom).

I disagree. The FA* 85/1.4 is a dog unless you want to use it as a portrait lens. The 77 Limited outperforms it. The 85 is a bad performer at longer focusing distances. The A* 85/1.4 is much better....

Well I'm using it for portrait or shorter distances, but at what distance you say the FA*85 stops being a great lens?

I would take the FA*85. Good lenses to choose from.

The reason I gave to lists is that it is unclear if his friend is giving him the lenses or selling him the lenses.

I would pick the A* over FA* 85 as well.

Yes, I would like to know what is the longest focus length the FA*85 can still remain the good performance?

Sure, not giving... I have to pay the lens.
