Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 sounds when turned

hi everyone
love this forum
based on reading through i finally decided to pull the trigger on a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 for my Pentax K-x. This is my first lens besides the kit lens.

received it last night, mounted it on the camera body and started taking some test pics. So far, everything looks fine. I am not expert by ANY means but it seems to me everything is working properly. However, i noticed that when i turn the camera into a vertical portrait orientation, i can hear a small "clicking" noise. (Just one click, as the camera is turning into portrait orientation)

I dont remember this happening with the kit lens. (in fact, i re-mounted the kit lens to check and i didnt observe the same noise). I can't tell if the noise is coming from the lens or the camera body.

Any ideas on what this is? hoping this is just some stupid question i am unaware of and it happens to everyone

I'd guess that it's the lens shifting slightly in orientation, or gravity moving about the shutter mechanism internals. I have a few lenses that do this (especially one lens that uses ball bearings between shutter), and they haven't given me any cause for worry or change in focus. I could be wrong, though, so discussion is a good thing.

I just curiously checked mine but unable to notice any such sound.

Anyway, Congrats on 28-75 - you will love it.

I'm guessing it's just the normal sound of the SR mechanism. You might not have noticed it with the kit lens, but unless your camera is broken, the sound was there. Maybe the acoustics are slightly different with the larger lens and it makes just loud enough for you to hear.
