16-50 fringing

So I generally am well pleased with my 16-50...except it fringes rather easily. I kinda want to get to 50-135 but am hesitant. Does it fringe as easily as the 16?

The 50-135 is a very different lens optically to the 16-50.
The 16-50 is indeed prone to some PF and CA, as well as some barrel distortion at the wide end.
The 50-135 does not exhibit these aberrations to significant extents, and most owners praise it as being of prime quality with the versatility of being a very useful telezoom.

Purple fringing and chromatic aberration are not serious problems, once you know how to deal with them in post-processing. If you shoot raw, many raw processors are capable of eliminating them with great ease. I do it in Capture One, but I believe that ACR/LR can do it as well. PTLens can do the same with processed images.
