I'm not exactly sure what you'd like to discuss, especially if you don't want to talk about the most similar lens in Pentax's current lineup to what you propose.

How wonderful would a metal ltd. jewel in the 85mm equiv range, f1.2, be?

That is all I wish to discuss .

It would be a very nice lens, no doubt. It would also very likely be over $1000 and then I imagine there would be complaints that the DA*55/1.4 is the better value and works better because it was designed for digital

But in all seriousness, I would almost certainly buy it

All they really need to do is put the optics from the A 50/1.2 in a FA ltd package along with the Ghostless Coatings on the rear element and SP on the front element and call it good.

Maybe it could look something like this (with AF of course).

The Canon 50 f/1.2 is $1,600, can't imagine the Pentax version would be cheaper given the current cost:speed ratio of the FA ltds.

It would be nice Pentax just did what Nikon do, keep producing their old manual focus 50mm f/1.2.

Actually, when Pentax ran out the batch of A 50/1.2 and FA 20-35/4 and FA 35/2, they showed that it could happen.

Go look at the prices the FA 31 ltd routinely bring and get back with me on that.

Don't follow you Mark, I think a 55mm f/1.2 Pentax FA limited would be $2k or more, you think different? I know what a FA31 runs for because I bought one recently
