Great to hear! Only one problem................wheres some pics?

LOL... Most are snapshots documenting a family gathering - subject matter not particularly interesting if you don't know them . But here's one, of one of the many spawn in attendance, that I thought showed some of what the lens can do:

Great snap, this lens certainly does a great job isolating subjects

glad to hear it, nothing better than a good large aperture lens to play with on a weekend!

I really like this lens. It's perfect for casual people shots - and as we've seen - pets.

I'm a fan of this lens as well. I have the 43mm....the 77mm....but just can't justify the jump to the 31mm....when the Sigma will do stuff like this....you almost want to jump back, don't you?

Yeah, I agree. Haven't had a chance to shoot anything but family snapshots, but I really like the output. It's even a great movie lens.

I think this thread needs more life as an appreciation thread for this lens.....

One of my favorites to date, from this summer....Morgan (daughter of friends) is quite the ham for the camera....

Hi everyone. I have a question about the current version of this lens: The OP says it is a screw drive focus lens, and it is shown to be so on B&H's website, but is described to be HSM focus and that is the picture of the lens on Adorama for the Pentax mount. Are there two versions of this lens floating around?

That Morgan shot is awesome

Does anyone have a real life picture where those extremely smudgy and blurry corners are visible? Also, are they really that visible? I'm not interested in test charts, I won't be shooting those anyway. This seems like a wonderful and fast prime to have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm also seeing a nice 3D effect on photos taken with this lens

Hi, there is only one version, non-hsm screw-drive only (which is quite fast).
Before I brought this lens, I contacted SIGMA directly and asked this question and they confirmed it, I also asked if they plan on fitting it with HSM and they said "they have no plans fitting the Pentax version of this lens with HSM".

Dont worry about the soft corners, you wont even notice it, the corners are out of focus anyway so you dont even notice the "soft edges".
