Tamron 17-50 $268 Amazon Warehouse

I've stumbled upon this deal: Tamron 17-50 for $268. It can be purchased here. You can't go wrong, Amazon has free returns. Thought I'd share it with you guys. It'll go fast.

Warehousedeals.com is a sub-entity of amazon that sells lightly damaged goods.

Just thought I'd let you know in case you were expecting it to be new.

True. They actually sell (primarily) returned goods, some of which might be like-new, some of which might have some light damage (typically cosmetic). My biggest concern would be whether or not the 17-50 was returned due to a FF/BF issue. I only bring that up because the first two 17-50 lenses I tried had those issues and it's somewhat common. That said, I was tempted to get it anyway to compliment my 28-75

I know they are not new, however I purchased from them before and some of the things they call "blemishes", I could not find any damage. Purchased my two lens K-x kit from them, couldn't tell that it wasn't new.

Quite true

In that respect, there is no risk.

They are not necessarily blemished or slightly damaged - sometimes they are just opened and returned.

They have some crazy good deals sometimes. They were selling the DA 16-45 for 216 a while back. The convenience of trying the product and returning it for free if don't you like it is awesome.

I got a rather nice scanner for the house that normally sold, on a good sale, for $500 for $280 and it had everything in it. No problems, all the software, cables, etc. Its sitting here next to me and has worked like charm for nearly 2 years. Yes, they sometimes have killer deals. Fujitsu honors their warranty even when the box is opened as long as it was not registered previously. I wish Pentax did the same.

I hear you on that. Thankfully I did not have problems with my Pentax gear so far.

My backup cam, a Lumix G1 with 14-45 zoom, was had through their warehouse. Used-very good meant maybe 200 shots & repacked perfectly.. could have been factory tests and nothing else for what I could see. Minor risk, great rewards in many cases.
