Oh, Benji! I´m so sorry. No way!

My lenses are only in the mood for taking portraits of cold German girls. You take pics of hot French girls and hip fashion. That would break my glass...

Best,
Rainer

Yes it is!
My wife and I are proud owner of season tickets. What does a fan from the gunners do in Toronto?

This is the link to the eBay shop I bought the 43: PENTAX smc FA 43mm f/1.9 LIMITED BLACK BRAND NEW IN BOX - eBay (item 120228248166 end time Mar-04-08 10:32:27 PST)

Yes, that is exactly also the shop I bought from, since I know their home town. They sounded nice on the phone, but now seem to be doing the best they can to screw up the order. I cannot phone them until Monday and still no email replies after one week.

Perhaps their prices are too good to be true? (More as things develop.)

31mm amazing but also...

...are others.

After great debate and many forum messages I decided on a certain combination of three lenses, having experience only with the kit lens and an old 28mm. I would certainly have liked to buy the 31mm, since the focal length of 28 is the "perfect normal" on a cropped sensor (so it's a teeny bit too big). But I need to go wider still for street photography and architecture, and this one lens would have used up my entire budget.

So instead I bought the 16-45mm which certainly is well respected, and is in fact the cheapest way to get down to something one can actually call wide angle. For architecture it has the benefit of being sharp out to the edges, something rather rare it seems. As a zoom it replaces the kit as a walk around lens.

Then for pure prime goodness and low light I purchased the 43mm which others in this thread have shown to be astounding. I think I will prefer the FA series due to the extra light and aperture ring I might use sometimes. Also they appear to not be too small, and at discounted prices are not much more than their nearest DA counterparts. Then again, I take on board the comments others have made about the DA series. I will miss quick shift focus, something I rather take for granted.

This combination of two lenses still needs the FA 77mm to be complete, but that will have to wait.

wow ... i think someday in the future, i must get myself out to a Schalke match. i love to watch bundesliga games and i always want Schalke to do well, but seems like they always find a way to mess up in the end ... there are plenty of gooners here in toronto

at 399.99 CDN, the price is definitely tempting... have fun with your limiteds!

I have started another thread to follow up on this seller. It's a bit of a "good news bad news good news" story.

Would be a pleasure for me to guide you to the stadium. Do you know that there is a little english speaking webside: Schalke04

Yes we are good in falling down, but we everytime stand up and fight on. :-)

The lens arrived yesterday and everything is fine. For me a good seller.

Best,
Rainer
