Do I lose your respect when I sell the 31mm 1.8??

Thats the fact. The 21mm is really great, and my 77mm 1.8 is a winner for portrait. But the 31mm is, hmm. I dont now. Its very good, but worth the money?? Tonight I find a 43 at a store for 295 Euros. Will give it a try for an all day lense and than I will see what the future for the 31 is in my bag.

What do you think??

Best,
Rainer

Damn. Just look into the cam and took a pic with 1.8:

How performs the 43 in that way??

You can keep my respect if you sell it to me for, say, $50.

No Ido not think you will lose any respect selling it.
At least not from me.

It is probably the least used lens I own.
But it does have its place... to be quite fran I am keeping it because I am afraid I would miss it if I got rid of it

Yeah, but you are a streang guy. A 70mm and a 77mm. Seams you like to have them all... :-)

If you don't want it, like it or use it, then sell it or trade it for something you will use.

oh my now, if I only had that lens when I was at about 9000ft on the edge of Ngorongoro crater taking my shots of the Milkyway ... would have given me the better FOV then the 50mm f/1.4 w/similar light through to the sensor. I think I'll have to be sure to buy that if I am to go somewhere far from civilization (and light pollution) again. (else is there's a similarly fast but even wider lens?)

Maybe then I'd have picked your shot as the winner in last week's contest :P LOL...

Seriously though...what about a pentax 24/2 , or even better a Sigma 20/1.8? That siggy would do the trick if you could get one that worked properly...

That's right... There's 20, a 24, and a 28. There's an advantage to having Sigma USA just a few miles away here on LI; easy drop-off and pick-up if I need it adjusted. I might consider the 24 tho for the macro ability (barely, more like "close focus" ) Anyway, we digress. thanx for pointing that out.

No respect lost from me. I owned the 31 for a while. While it was an amazing lens, and probably the best I've ever used, I just didn't see well with it and therefore didn't use it much. It is an awkward focal length for me, on the K10D. I much prefer the 43, which is very very close in quality IMO.

Don't do it! You will just have seller's remorse.
