what do you think of this lens?

I saw a deal on a Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX DG IF Aspherical Super Wide Angle Lens. How good a lens is this? I saw mixed review on it, but I am a very amatuer photographer. Is it a good lens?

Its a pretty average lens from what I understand. It'd be fine for tooling around but the zoom is pretty limited. I have a Sigma 17-70 and it gives a little more zoom capability. I am happy with mine.
