I could use a little input from all you 18-250 users out there. I was so impressed with this lens in long, short and macro mode that I decided to see if it would hold up with a T.C. attached. Long story short, it's performance was better than anticipated and it was even able to auto-focus at full entension and F/6.3 in decent light. I tried both a Tamron 1.4 and a Kenko 1.5 (look to be the same unit) auto focus converter and except for the longer reach, both performed as though the lens were attached directly to the camera....until the lighting got low. Once there was insufficient light for the A.F. to work, I tried switching to M.F. but the lens wouldn't disengage. This was the same for both units. I tried both T.Cs with an FA 50 1.4 and a DA 50-135 and both worked as they should allowing the lens to manualy focus.
Has anyone else tried this lens with a T.C. and if so what were your results and were you able to manualy focus? I have more expensive and faster glass, but at the end of the day, this lens impresses me more than most others in it's ability to handle just about everything well. The only place I find it lacking even a little is in speed.
