Last Friday I took delivery of this lens picked up via auction. I needed the flexibility of a zoom, a constant aperture, and the extra speed that comes from not having to manually set the aperture while trying to photograph action shots where the focus varies pretty quickly. This was the lens I decided on.

First off....it is one heavy son of a gun, having 15 elements packed inside. Second, after being used to the nice long throw of the focus ring on the Takumar primes getting used to the short (1/4 turn) throw of this lens is going to take some considerable practice to get the hang of it.

I am pleased with the images I have gotten from it so far. Here is an early sample:

SMC-A 35-105 / 3.5 with two off-camera flashes (Pentax AF200T and National PE-3057).

Interesting picture. Sure is different than schools in the US! The lens is great. Friend had one on his LX. Sharp. Enjoy it.

I have had a 35-105 Macro Zoom A for about 25 years. Used it on my K1000 and now on my K10D. Fantastic lens...yup..it's a heavyweight but it is my all time favourite lens.
