Hi, I have just recieved this lens but am having trouble mounting it to my K100d. When I screw it into the adaptor, the lens ends up almost upside down. Any help for the novice? Thanks.

Hi, is it a 3rd party adapter you're using by any chance? I've had this problem before with them. Obviously the lens will still take photos no problem but if it's bothering you, you can usually alter the orientation of the lens by some small screws near the mount or failing that... sometimes a genuine adapter helps.

The first section separates.

Separate the first section by loosening the collar and then rotating the bayonet until it releases. Mount the lens on tripod. Mount the first section on your camera. Then plug the two parts together and tighten the collar.

This allows you to shoot landscape or portrait without moving the lens mount. And it lets you change bodies a little easier. And it provides access to the internal filter.
