M lenses - no aperture control?

Hi folks,

This may be something stupidly simple that I'm missing, but for some reason when I'm shooting with M lenses, the aperture value is unaffected.

In other words, regardless of whether I twist the ring from F1.7 to F22, there is no change in the bokeh and the background doesn't focus or defocus at all. It's more or less constant.

*edit: never mind. I figured it out. M lenses won't work in Av mode. You'll only get wide open aperture all the time. You have to use manual mode, meter wit the AE-L button and then the aperture difference shows up.

To complete this:
For screw mount lenses in the K100D you additionally have to set "FI with S lens used" to "available" in the menu. If it's not set SR cannot be used. (p. 49)
