Try shaking it again, this time holding the aperture actuating lever on the rear mount (sometimes it can make a little rattling sound when the lens is not mounted on a camera).

Fortunately Pentax has shake reduction, so it's OK.

The most likely part to make noise is the aperture lever. A non-Pentax lens is usually designed with a two-part system, to make it easier for the manufacturer to adapt the lens to other mounts. So there's more moving parts there. On a 1:1 macro lens, the distance between the aperture blades and the mount can vary by a couple of inches/50mm, so those lenses have an extensive mechanism to move the blades.

It is the little black lever that sticks out of the rear of the lens.

If the lens works on the camera and takes sharp photos, I doubt you have anything to worry about.

I just took my Tamron 90mm F2.8 Macro out and gave it a little shake; yep there's a little rattling sound. Nothing to worry about though.
