But wait...... I would have already bought it (even though I already own one) if there wasn't a catch. despite its beautiful condition in the images here's the description:

"Condition: UGLY
Cosmetically this lens is in UGLY condition with some signs of cosmetic wear. The body of the lens has some scuffs and scratches which are purely cosmetic. The glass is free of any haze and has a few light marks on the front and rear element as well as a few flecs of internal dust, none of which affect image quality whatsoever. There is however a large amount of internal fungus around the front and center elements that will have an affect on image quality. Functionally the lens is in great working order. The aperture blades snap cleanly but display some small signs of friction when turning the aperture ring. The lens focuses smoothly and does not display any signs of friction or stiffness when turning the focus ring."

Someone should get this

I'm not 100% sure if you're being serious or joking

$239 seems a little high given its condition

Someone will get this, and hopefully they're handy with the tools and cleansers (french makeup remover, anyone?) to dismantle and clean that one up. Frankly, I wouldn't pay $239 for a non-mushroomed K-series 1.2, but that's just me...

Wonder what Eric would charge to clean this one?

I would be more concerned about how much permanent damage might have already done.

I've seen a perfect looking & working copy on my local web store going for $125 on February ..and then vanish to the thin air in 15 minutes, leaving me cursing myself to eternity for being 30 minutes late

That's about 14 minutes longer than I'd expect a good copy of the K50/1.2 to last at $125

Agreed. I got a K50/1.2 a few months ago for US$250 shipped, which was just about market value. It had been used on an m4/3 camera so its aperture flag was trimmed slightly, not as savagely as if it was used on Canon, and otherwise in premier condition. But full of fungus, and battered and UGLY, and with marks on the glass, and iris blade issues? Sorry, that is a major LUZER. It might be worth US$150 to some lens surgeon or her friend, but not to me.
