Hello Everyone! I'm bertie and I'm new to the forum and have been doing photography for about two years, and I'm looking for a macro lens for my K-5. I already have a sigma 17-70mm macro lens but i feel limited by it and thought it would be better if i were to get a dedicated macro lens, with a true 1:1 magnification ratio.
Here are my guidlines:
Preferably water resistant, or at least useable in damp, cold conditions as were i live (channel islands) it rains a lot.
Below £500 or there-about.
A large maximum aperture, f2.8 or around there.
A longish focal length, over or around 100mm would be perfect, higher even better.
Reasonable AF, not something that takes half an hour to get from infinity to macro and back again!!
Things like weight and size don't really matter to me, nor do brand. As long as they are in Pentax K mount!
Oh and something with excellent bokeh would be a bonus.
And finally solid build quality is a must, as I'm the sort of person who climbs up steep rock faces to get a picture of an ant.....!!
Thanks very much in advance for any replies, I appreciate it!
