Those are all good choices. My picks would be the 31mm and the 100mm macro.

I think that the choice in prime lenses depends on the focal length that you favor. As an owner of all three FA Limiteds, here is my take: The FA31 has probably the best focal length for general shooting. It's the sort of lens that you can leave on your camera all day long. The FA43 is my favorite in terms of IQ and is great for upper body and environmental portraits, as well as general shooting. The FA77 is great as a moderate telephoto lens, but is more limited in it usefulness. Oh, and be warned. The FA Limiteds are genuinely addictive.

Regarding a macro lens, I own none, but everything that I have read suggests that the 100mm is the way to go.

Good luck.

I have both DA* and all the FA ltds; in the end I use the 31mm for just about everything - I use it more than any other lens.

Seems like budget isn't much of an issue so I would go with the FA31 / 100mm for a macro lens.

Of course, look at what focal length you a lot at or maybe think you want to expand to before anything else.

31ltd or 43ltd, no contests. Only if you shoot macro then get DFA 100 WR.

edit: i'll get 43 over 31 if i were you - reason more compact walkaround lens as opposed to your big star zooms.

Excellent choices there. I think the 100mm macro would be a better choice than the 35mm macro though, I'd pass on the DA35.

The only obvious candidate you are missing from that list is the DA15. The DA15 & FA31 are my favourite lenses so naturally they're what I am going to recommend.

A macro, but neither of the others. You have capable lenses covering those focal lengths.

+1 with the FA31mm f1.8 Ltd. a great lens. Truly.

A few suggestions:
* you have nothing longer than 135mm. Options include the DA*200mm f2.8, DA*300mm f4;

* all your lenses are AF; are you prepared to consider MF? There are some great MF lenses, incl. the Voigtlander series;

* do you need a fast lens (f1.4)? Your fastest lens is f2.8.

Food for thoughts...

I'd recommend as well the FA 31 ltd. and D FA 100mm macro WR. Those are both some very solid performing lenses. Another option is something in the the ~50mm range that is fast ~f/1.4 (I recommend the DA* 55mm).

It would be a toss up on something like a compact prime such as a DA 40 ltd or a DA* 300/4. I say that because the DA* zooms and DA* 300 would be big glass and the additional lens would give you a compact option.

Take a look at the photos that you have taken with the DA* zooms and figure out which focal length you naturally gravitate towards. Buy the closest Limited.

Oh, and send me your DA* zooms. I will "dispose" of them properly ;-)

What do you photograph usually? What do you think you lack in your current lenses (a wider, longer, faster, or closer focusing lens)? That should guide your decision. All those lenses that you are considering are great lenses and they each have their purpose, but only you can figure out what is the right next choice.

I end up using 16-50 most of the time. can DA*55mm F1.4 be a contender too ?

Depends. Do you find yourself using the long end of the 16-50 or the wide end most often? Or somewhere in between?
