that's a 50% crop off the elephant-shot i took in Namibia, Africa
made with F* 600 + 1.4x Teleconverter

only useable on 300mm+ lenses - REAR CONVERTER-A 1.4X-L

that's me on the roof taking this shot - the elephants have been somewhere between the trees on the right side

I'm glad I don't have to buy filters for that thing! The lens is as big as your face. Excellent shot, so much detail. You should post some more.

Nice shot. I agree lets see some more.
That lens combination must weigh almost as much as the 4x4 you where shooting from. Hope the cab roof was not too damaged.
Not a lens for taking on a long hike!

Wow, what a great shot. The detail seems pretty high given the extreme focal length and the crop. It almost looks like a close up shot of elephant miniatures.

I'm assuming the person driving the truck had done this before. Most first-time drivers don't realize how much it shakes the whole truck when they move around inside the cab.

well, aktually it was the first time for our driver
to have this kind of photographers on board, so we had to give him quite some instructions how-to-do

most time i use some kind of support (tripod, monopod, beanbag)
with this 6.8kg monster lens + camera

but there have been some situations where i was placed on the wrong side
so i had to do it handhold... and to my surpries it worked pretty good

one of the very rare wild dogs - with a fly on its nose, crisp sharp
handhold
