My father let me use his K1000 and lenses for photography because he gave up film (shame, shame) but I happened to come across a lens designed for the pentax K mount which I cannot find any info online about.
Apparently, he purchased the lens at a "fortuneoff" for $99. Yes, I have the receipt. He's one of those.
Anyway, the lens is a 85-210mm Fortron Auto Zoom" f4.5 lens (not auto at all btw, and I dont mind)
Surprisingly enough, this lens is incredibly sharp and easy to focus (well on a tripod or against a tree
)
I have a 70-250mm sakar lens for canon FD which wont truly focus for the life of me and is incredibly dull, yet there is no signs of dust or fungus or scratches/aberrations on the lens.
I just want to know who really made the Fortron lens. I think it probably was Ricoh, as the only thing that comes up from a "fortron" search is a Ricoh lens on ebay. The lens design also wasnt a dust pumper either, but rather a 2 stage lens with aperture dial, focal length adjustment dial and fine focus dial.
Anyone owned a Fortron lens? Thanks a bunch.
