Tamron 17-50 2.8 and Sigma 24-70 2.8

Hi, i got something to ask and I hope someone can give some opinion. I have Tamron 17-50 2.8 and im thinking to sell it to buy a sigma 24-70 2.8. Do you guys think i should sell the Tamron for the Sigma or not?

Cheers.

i think you'll get better responses if you change the subject of your post to
"Tamron 17-50 2.8 VS Sigma 24-70 2.8".

I know the tamron is pretty well respected ... I'd love to have one.
Check the lens review data base.

Why are you considering the switch? If you feel you want 50-70 instead of 17 - 24, then a switch like this makes sense. By the way, I think Tamron also makes a 24-70 2.8.

Good luck!

I can't imagine giving up 17mm for 50-70mm... considering the difference from 50-70mm is like a few feet forwards, while 24 to 17 is a lot more back..

Yes it does, a great high quality lens (28-75). I would think that, as it was already mentioned, you should decide whether you need the wide end or not. I have the Tamron 28-75 but I missed the wide end, that is why I now own it's the little brother the 17-50. They are both sharp and excellent indoors and outdoors too .

What do you think about the Tamron 28-75 f2.8? Is it a good lens?

Keep the 17-50 and save for a DA70 or Sigma 70 macro.

Don't count out the tamron 28-75. I have one and I love it.
Check out Edgar_in_Indy's photos. They turned me .

I sold the Tamron 17-50 for a Sigma 24-70/2.8 'cause I use 24-70 focal range more (for kids and family photos). But I do have a 12-24 to cover the wide end...
