Stolen Pentax SMC DA K-mount 12-24mm.

My Pentax SMC DA K-mount 12-24mm. ED AL f4.0 no. 5827800 w. hood & caps was lent to a friend a few days ago. It was taken out of her checked baggage somewhere between Seattle, SF and Dallas, the box and packaging being left behind. The flight nos. were UA 574 and 838.

She needs to file a report with the airline ASAP. Upon receiving the baggage would have been best.

yes, definitely do that. Also, be sure to put the serial number in the serial database. If anyone tries to sell it here or on ebay, they'll be found.

This is another reason why I never checked in my photography gear. Especially expensives ones like this one. Alsways in the carry-on luggage.

It already is in there, fortunately. Thanks for your counsel!

Sorry to have written f2.8; f4.0 is right.

Yup, always carry-on baggage for me whenever I'm on a trip. TSA agents can't seem to be trusted:

Sorry about the lost OP, that's one of my favorite lenses too.
