I'll cheat. My three+ daily primes are:

Komine 28/2 CFWA or Kiron 24/2
Pentax K50/1.2 or Tomioka 55/1.4
Nikkor 85/2 or Komine 90/2.8 macro

Nothing digital there. Just great glass.
And one of them is even Pentax. Yaaay!

For a recent family vacation in San Diego, I just took the following primes:

The FA24 was for shots of our family doing things where I also wanted to show where we were doing it (zoo, Legoland, Sea World). The DA200 was for candids on the beach where I wanted to isolate my family from other beach goers.

I also took my sigma 10-20, but that was a bit of a waste in hind sight. I had intended it to be for some "golden light" shots of scenery and architecture, but I only got 1 chance to use it and wasn't really happy with the results anyway. Next time, I would probably just leave it at home.

If it was really going to be a "walkabout" and it had to be a prime then - FA35/2 only.

A DSLR is already clumsy and heavy and too large for this kind of shooting to be lugging about more than you absolutely have too.

Well if you are restricting us to Pentax only then :

15, 31 & 77 (none of which I own).

However if it is any three primes in PK mount then :

Pentax 15/4 (now I do own it)
Contax Zeiss 28/2.8 or Sigma 30/1.4 (both of which I do own) - this would depend on location (out in the countryside then the Zeiss, around town - the Sigma).
Contax Zeiss 85/1.4 (also own)

From the ones I own:

DA 15 Limited
DA 35 Macro Limited
DA* 55

The DA* 55 beats out my DA 70 Limited because it has WR and F1.4. I've also found that I like ~50mm better than 70. The DA 35 could be replaced with the FA 31 Limited or a Sigma 30/1.4 but I don't know if I'd like to lose the macro capability.

generally, when just walking with no specific purpose, i would probably take FA31 + DA50-135, but since you asked for primes here's my trio:
K20/4; FA31/1.8; DA70/2.4

DA 17-70
DA 55-300 or Sigma 120-400 HSM (I do a fair bit of wildlife).

All of these lenses are in the 'affordable' range - I may go for a few of the wide-angle primes.. when I can afford them and food.

Whoops wrong discussion thread... flame away.

Usually use the DA(-L) 35, but I often find myself swapping it for the 70Ltd when I want to start taking photos of people.

My answer would be (too) simple to compile as they are the only three owned.

DA 35mm F2.4 AL
D FA 50mm F2.8 Macro
D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR
My answer would be the same as yours, and for the same reason With the slight variant of a DA 35 Limited and the non-WR 100 Macro. Can't see myself adding to that in walkabout terms (because, despite its relative heftiness, I love my Sigma 10-20 too much to get a DA15 or DA21).

It depends,
If I want IQ/Speed/WR : DA15 / 30mm 1.4 / DA*55

Or if i want IQ/Speed/Compact : DA15 / FA43 / FA77

DA21 (next purchase?)
FA43 (sorry, not a DA or D-FA, but my favorite lens and I actually own it!)
DA70 (second purchase?)

I might prefer the D-FA 100mm WR macro over the 70mm if the weather looks questionable and/or I think that I might need the macro capabilities or reach. This kit gives me widish (21), normalish (43), fast (43), and short telephoto (70/100). It also adds macro and WR if I take the 100. Unfortunately, this reads more like a wish list for me than reality.

My favourite walkaround set:

da15/da40/tamron 90/2.8 adaptall macro PKA

(not dreaming, i own/use them - a lot )

Plus, a spare battery and an SD card.

There is hardly anything you can't take a picture of with that setup.
