well isn't this is just typical... I bought a Voigtlander 125mm f/2.5 earlier this year, they only had one left in stock and it happened to be in Nikon F mount.

price looks a bit low though.

I bet that goes for a bit more than what the current bid is. That is a really good lens.

Yeah, at $400.00 it was a steal. I see it is now $1,200+

Pretty sure the "price" of anything you see on an eBay auction is mostly irrelevant until the last 5 seconds, when the final bidding takes place

There, I fixed that for you. It seems that with most valuable items like this lens, the bids up to the last 5 minutes are just people who don't know what they are bidding on, or the serious bidders just getting the item onto their bid list.

Ironically, when I was typing out that post, I used the word "real" before changing it to "final". "Actual" works just as well

I didn't want to imply that the early bids aren't real; often an early bid with a high maximum is the one that takes it. However, you never know how high that bid is going to go until the last few seconds, when the majority of serious budding takes place.

I wouldn't expect bidding to be below $1500 come closing time for those auctions. Fortunately I bought mine locally from a forum member.

A question: why would people pay more for it than for the A*200/4 macro?

The A*200/4 opens up more possibilities, like shooting more distant objects, flash work, etc. IQ-wise is Voigt any better? Hard to believe...
