My copy of FA 20/2.8 is surprisingly sharp wide open with a bit of 3D effect mostly depending on the light and lens-subject-background distance relations. My copy of DA 21 is not so good and I tend to close it at least to f/4.0. It is small and light though.

If you want faster than 2.0 then you have only few choices - all by Sigma - 30/1.4 (not wide enough, if I understood you correctly) and 20/1.8 or 24/1.8. Another local Pentaxian has 24/1.8 which is surprisingly good too. I did not pixel peep into his pictures but they looked good. May be he's just a good photog :-).

My understanding that in general Sigma lenses suffer a lot from sample variation. Pictures taken with Sigma 30/1.4 in this thread look very impressive.

P.S. It seems to me that if a lens is very sharp in the center with somewhat steep drop off of sharpness outwards from the center with smooth OOF rendering, then 3D effect comes up. I think MTF graphs of FA 43 limited were criticized for something like this, but sometimes its 3D effect is very strong.
