I don't have good luck with my DA* 60-250

My first copy has it's zoom ring jammed at 200mm, I can never reach 250, it just stops at 200.

Had it exchanged while I was still in Japan.

Now this second copy's SDM started to fail. This all happnened within 2 months of each other.

It's currently in CRK for repairs, I don't expect to see it back for 3 months.

Good thing this lens is a stella performer. I would have gotten really annoyed.

Mean while I have to fall back on my 55-300, I'm glad I have't sold it straight after I bought the DA*.

I'm sorry for you to hear of your problems.

Also, there are not many 60-250 SDM failure reports here on this forum.
You have not been lucky. My DA*60-250mm never had any problems (knock on wood).

Never the less, the 55-300mm is still a worthy cheap / light / longer alternative.

Yeah pure bad luck indeed. I hope it comes back before the surfing competition season starts, it's a little bit short for surfing shots but it works fine with the 1.7x AFA.

My lens just came back! Wow! Less than 1 week turn around. CRK service in Australia is VERY fast.

They replaced the focus motor. I think the new motor sounds louder than the old one.

Want to see how long this one will last.
