Paid $99 CAN for mine. It had a dented hood and some minor dust on the 2nd element. Fairly minor. What annoys me is that Pentax made the focus ring a two piece design held together by 4 screws.

I tightened them one already. Just last week I took it out to shoot only to realize the focus ring had come loose again...lol. They keep coming loose and then I have to realign infinity (using the moon) and flip up the rubber grip and retighten the screws again.

i have been ringing around different 2nd hand dealers to price match and i have talked it down to $260au with 2 uv filter, a polariser filter and also a camera lense case that can support my camera and 4 lenses. i think that is fair. i dont have an ebay account, i dont do internet banking and i dont have credit cards, so i think this is probably as good a deal as i can get...

$300 is definitely on the expensive side. I sold mine (Pentax-A 70-210/4) to someone in Tasmania a few months back for about $100 (or was it $120?). And mine was in excellent condition.

cheers
Kenny

I;m a bit late in response i see.

I purchase one from a member of another internet Pentax group back in 2001 or 2002, for something like, $150.00 US.

Its a very decent lens, and the 1;4 macro is pretty good, for a zoom.

You might want to buy a Vivitar series 1 70-210 f2.8-4 made by komine that it is in the marketplace right now. The price is awesome for such a lens. I never own one but I have read great things about it.
