Samyang has announced a new FF lens - 24mm f/1.4

Here is the Photo Rumors link, which includes a list of the specs and a formula diagram.

Well, I guess if you want a more official link here is the same information straight from Samyang's official website.

Wow. Samyang has been making impressive optics lately, great color transmission and sharpness... This will likely be on par with their 14, 35 and 85.

That is exciting. I hope it is cheaper than the Sigma.

I agree, but one of the things that drives their success (price) would be killed with AF. they have come a really long way, and the reputation is getting strong enough. i think they could launch and AF line within a couple of years and be able to recover the cost thanks to the rep these lenses are garnering (they should rework the 85 first i think)

I will be sitting on the bench with this one and watching. a 24F1.4 would be interesting, more interesting than the 35F1.4 in my opinion.

It would leave me with a tough LBA choice though, I ahve, Like Rio Rico, a kiron 24F2. and it only cost $5 because it had stuck blades when I got it.

The samyang would have to really be a good performer to make me upgrade.

ALso, I found the 35F1.4 a little pricy, compated to other lenses. I would have expected it to be closer in price to the 14/2.8 not 25% more.

I hope the 24 is a little more in the price range of the others. I will admit I have enjoyed the 8mm, 14mm and 85mm and found them very capable performers

Hey Lowell. You would be the right person to ask. Do the Pentax mount Samyangs support Auto-Aperture? Or, are they fully manual? I have found conflicting information.

I like how they are making it available for every lens mount. If a small company like Samyang can make Pentax mount lenses, why are Tamron and Sigma not offering their new lenses in Pentax mount?

Samyang can offer it in every mount because they don't license the electronic components.

Samyang producing af lenses would cause only problems: af accuracy issues (like other off-brands), much higher prices and probably even bigger/heavier lenses, which are not really small anyway. Moderate prices for fabulous optics are their main advantage. And fast 24 certainly is a good news.
Size and prices rises with new lenses anyhow, and due complexity of 24 optics, I expect higher price than 35.
Let's hope this is the beginning of very hot and interesting fall!

Ditto! I would love to see it no more than $500, I will however pay up to $600 for this piece if need be.

I myself have a brand fetish, so I am hoping that this one will be released under the Vivitar label...
