The 10-17 is one of those lenses I consider a 'must have' but a 'sparingly used'. It's great for tight corners and providing a unique perspective, but the distortion is often not sought after.
Having said that I do use it occasionally and am often impressed with how the results turn out, even with comparing it to a rectilinear shot of the same area. Of course, there is significantly wider field of view with the FE.

I'll second this and similar views. I'm most likely to use the 10-17 @10mm mostly in rounded interiors, which aren't exactly abundant in modern architecture. And rather than the 10-17 @17mm indoors, I'll more likely use the Zenitar 16/2.8, which is 4/3 stops faster there. Or the Tamron 10-24, which has its own rectilinear distortion. But fisheyes in 'normal' (right-angle) interiors... I just usually don't like the results. Same reason I don't use fisheyes in forests, unless I'm on my back, looking up.
