Not any more for a long time.

If you are lucky, you can still find some "old stock, new in box" 1.7x AF TC's.
A batch of them was sold a couple of months ago here on this forum.

There are other 3rd party TC's, including 2.0x TC's available in the market.
Be aware that the Sigma 2.0 TC's do not work with all lenses.
In general you will see that your camera have a lot of problems focusing with a 2.0 TC.

Unfortunately the Pentax system is still fairly lacking in this area, but there are some third-party TC's that give you screwdrive AF compatibility- check the lens review section!

Tamron MC Teleconverter 2x for P/K

I own a Pentax K-r and have two lenses so far. The DA 18-55mm that came with it and the Quantarray AF70-300mm F4-5.6 LD Macro. I am REALLY pleased with the Quantarray and have taken some great shots with it.

I just purchased a Tamron MC Teleconverter and I noticed that it seems to work OK with the exception that I cannot set the aperture. It displays 'F--', however I can still set the shutter speed, ISO, etc..

Does anyone have any workaround ideas or am I just screwed and will have to ante up for a Pentax Teleconverter at some crazy cost?

Thanks in advance-
Mark

I have a Quantaray 2x AF teleconverter I picked up for about $20 as a scratch & dent from Tech4less. The only thing "wrong" with it was that it didn't have lens caps. They had a large number of these they picked up from the Ritz bankruptcy. Unfortunately they ran out of Pentax mount Quantaray lenses and converters last year. All they have now are 2 Optios and the red K-x. You might be able to find one on evilBay for less than $100.

It will autofocus the F 70-210 @ 210, the FA 80-320 @ 300 and the DA L 55-300 @ 200.
