Choose which lens - MCQ game!

I think it is interesting to see how different different lenses perform and whether we can really tell a $1000-lens apart from a $100 lens in some situations.

Lets start with something really easy!

Two sets of two pics each - one was taken with our highly esteemed FA77ltd, the other with the old Japanese made el cheapo Zeiss-labeled Jenazoom, 80-200/4.5-5.6. So which is which?

Set 1:

and Set 2:

We'll as a 77ltd owner I hope I get this one right :P
Set 1 = Jenazoom, 80-200/4.5-5.6
Set 2 = FA77
I think it is the bokeh in Set 2 pic #1 that gives it away,
and the nice colour in Pic#2 of set 2

I'm tempted to say the second set is the 77 as well, however, the leaves in the first set (second picture) also could be 77. It is tough because you can get very good results from a zoom at f8 / 200mm that look a lot like the 2.0/85mm range (with no background / frame of reference to see the FOV).

Ok, I'll let a few more people have a go. In the meantime, here's a few more:

One is with the DA*16-50 and the other is with FA*28-70, both with very similar FL and aperture:

No takers?

Well the first two guys got it right - their pennies were well-spent on the 77ltd although I was surprised that the Jenazoom was no slouch either and delivered pretty good images:

I'd say on the second post, the first one is taken with the 16-50 while the second is taken with the 28-70mm (I find my FA* being slightly warmer than my DA*)
Third post, Tokina macro, 77ltd and 50 f/1.2 ?

Doesn't seem to attract much interest - so I will give it away. You were spot on ZEPsikopat - well done!

Anyone else wants to post some pics for guessing?

yeh I might try to get a few up tomorrow. I think this is an interesting concept. Problem is: a little difficult as I have a limited number of lenses... Solution: Buy new lenses.

I can help you with this problem! My collection is totally out of control. The trouble is I've gotten so good at justifying keeping every one of them. But the boss is unconvinced...

haha, unfortunately I have a boss too. One that makes me justify buying $8 extension tubes off ebay!!
Its a great way to keep LBA in check but sometimes it might be taking things a little too far. But I might get a couple up comparing the PentaxF 70-210 the Siggy 70-200 f/2.8 and maybe even the siggy kit 50-200. That way it covers the poor, the average and the good. And for another challenge I might do the Siggy kit 18-50, DA 18-55 WR,Chinon 50 1.9 and a Pentax F 35-135

Mine just totally accepted my impulsive buy ofa 645NII : «Oh, I thought it would be wayyyy more expensive, go for it then !»
I'll try to put some pics with some parts of my collection to continue the game... Let me find time first

I think this list might have given us an insight into the "very harsh" restrictions you are subject to. lol. not to feed your LBA but I see a big hole in your lenses lineup. FA 31 *cough* *Cough*

Yeah, I know, can't find one at a realistic price for my LBA purse.
FA35/2 is a must-have as well

Oh, and DA15 ltd.

Must... resist... longer...

OK, if anyone is still interested, here's a couple snapped quickly this morning at breakfast.

One lot is from our very own F 50/1.7, a $200 lens, the other is from Leica Summilux-R 50mm E60 (last version), the cheapest on ebay right now can be had for $3500.
