Well, this morning I made a slight change to the dioper adjustment. Not sure it was enough to make a difference, but it seemed a hair better with some AF lenses. Then the optometrist gave me a set of contacts with the new prescription. Went out at lunch and played with the Viv at 1:1, 1:2, a couple of other close-up shots and had no trouble with the focus. Looked at the pictures on the monitor tonight and they were all focused where I expected them to be.

I am still intrigued by the Pentax WR, and thought it was interesting that one person sold the Viv when they got the Pentax and another sold their Pentax when they got the Viv. I may eventually get the Pentax somewhere down the road, but it's gone down to the lower reaches of my priority list. I'll keep the Viv and enjoy it once again. Thanks for letting me know what you think of both lenses and how they stack up against each other.

I sold the Vivitar because in the nearly 3 years I had it, I took maybe a couple dozen photos with it. The person who bought it got a lens that was virtually brand new because I was in fact the original owner. I don't really consider one lens 'better' than the other, they are just different and I preferred the compact size of the Pentax.

Enjoy your new view through the Vivitar and show us some photos some time.

Thanks, Jeff. Here's one from Friday. I'd forgotten just how much fun it can be to shoot macros.

Thanks again everyone!
