I thought the FA31 was a lovely size, enough of a lens to hold firmly and feel like the lens was under my control, yet compact enough to handle the camera with ease. The two pancake-like lenses I have bug me a bit for not letting me get a good grip on them with my left hand. And personally I prefer full frame lenses like the FA series, I think the APS-C sensor takes advantage of the best part of FF lenses.

Well in the lenssurvey a DA*85mm/f1.4 is very popular, buth DA 28mm/f2.8 Ltd. only had a few votes (well I voted for it).
I wouldn't be surprised if the DA 24/2WR and DA28/2.8 split the votes in the survey. I voted for the 24 for the WR but I don't really need the f2 and would probably change my vote to the 28. I think if Pentax made a DA24-28 f2.0-2.8 ltd it would be a big seller w/o affecting the FA31. It's a totally different lens.

You heard right! I really like this lens. Just started a new thread in the sample archive. I hope someone add some better photos soon!

IMO pentax would really benefit from making big stuff for a change. A camera with a built-in grip, fast FF lenses, etc- they'd attract a more diverse range of customers.

and weather sealed

And I'd love it to be weather sealed... I love my 21mm for hiking, wide, but not too wide, small, low profile... just not weather sealed, because you never know when its going to rain (rather you should, but you never do...)
