I never travel without the 10-17mm. Other lenses may change but the 10-17 is always in the bag. I consider a light travel kit to be DA* 16-50, DA 55-300 and the 10-17. I like to use zooms for travel .........
I also take the 10-17, but the 12-24 is a very useful range around town and does not weird people out with curved lines :-)

The 12-24, 35 and 70 would cover the major bases. The 55-300 instead of the 70 if you like to shoot long.

I agree. Now to get me a DA 70/2.4.

This gives 12-24 (will stay on the camera most of the time), + 40 and 70 for tighter FOV shots, i.e. portraits.

My travel kit is usually: DA 15mm, DA 35 mm, DA 70mm and DA 55-300mm. Very lightweight combo and all necessary covered including macro lens. I do take DA 21mm often too, cause I think that is a perfect focal length for street photography.

I'm traveling now, the 12-24 is the work horse, the FA31 and DA70 are picking up the rest. Very light set up, could have gone lighter with a da40 instead, but the extra weight of the 31 is worth it.
