it's a great lens but 2.8 at 70mm is not shallow enough for the portraits i like to take. FA77 is easily my favorite head&shoulders portrait lens.

Like many "amateur" photographers I only dabble in portraits and take head and shoulder shots
when I do. Of the lenses I have used for this task I have found the Pentax M 100/2.8 and
DA 70/2.4 produce the best results for me.
