How far apart? Glass out of barrel as well? Mount in pieces and the little tiny contact springs all over?

Good luck with that--it's a very nice lens when assembled.

The bigest problem is the Mount.

If it's any consolation.....................................................

Once did this with a watch, which appeared to be sprung loaded and fired bits all over the place on the undoing of the last wee screw.

Good luck with the rebuild.

Oh the watch you ask, it never saw the light of day again.

K-A mount you have a bunch of spring loaded contacts and a little grounded piece as well on some or all? That is the worst of the bunch and hopefully it is not lost. That piece will require some fancy positioning to get it to stay and while assembling the aperture ring. Have a look at the 50mm A 1.7...

I can see why--it's a complicated lens.

So if you have no missing parts, it is just a tricky slow process. If none of the guides and cams are disassembled from the element groups, just take your time and it should come together, try a little scotch tape to help grip parts from the outside of the mount while you work on the inside. ... sorry about the typo, doing too many things at the same time.
